Common Questions
What should I do if I'm locked out right now?
Stay with the vehicle if it's safe to do so, and don't try to force a door or window — that almost always costs more to fix than the lockout itself. Call or text (561) 232-1008 with your location; if it's during business hours I can usually get to you the same visit.
Can you make a car key without the original?
Yes, in almost every case — this is called "all keys lost." I work from your VIN to identify the correct key type, then cut and program a fresh one at your vehicle. No original key needed.
What's the difference between a transponder key and a smart key?
A transponder key has a chip inside it but you still physically turn it in the ignition. A smart key (push-to-start) just needs to be nearby — no turning required. They're programmed differently and priced differently, which is why getting the right type matters for an accurate quote.
Do I need to bring my car in for module reprogramming?
Not necessarily. Airbag, ABS, and similar modules can often be mailed in — I reprogram them and ship them back. Some cases do need the vehicle present; I'll tell you which applies before you commit to anything.
I only have one key and it doesn't work well — what now?
Worth having a spare cut regardless, even a working key can fail without warning. If your one key is already acting up, treat it as urgent — losing it entirely turns a simple job into an all-keys-lost situation.

Two different jobs, both covered: board-level repair on modules dealers usually just replace (mail-in), and on-site programming, relearn, or calibration after a module's already been swapped in or a repair's been done — I come to your location with the tool and program/calibrate it to your specific vehicle. Ford, and every GM brand (Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Saturn) — and beyond; recently reprogrammed a body control module on a 2004 Honda Pilot after replacement.

I'll pick it up and drop it back off
If you're nearby, I can grab the module and return it once it's repaired instead of you shipping it — +$25 within 30 miles, +$50 for 31–60 miles. Beyond that, mail-in is the way to go.
I'll just come program it — no shipping at all
If you've already repaired, swapped, or replaced the module yourself and just need it programmed to the vehicle, I can come to you and handle that on-site — no removing or mailing anything. Confirmed for GM (GMC, Chevy) and Ford transmission modules after transmission work, plus PCM/DME, BMW CAS, and Mercedes ignition/ECU modules. If your vehicle isn't listed here, ask — there's a good chance I can still do it.
